We are dead stars looking back at the sky
Even the iron in your blood comes from the instant before a star dies.
The universe began with hydrogen – the simplest atom that exists.
The entire periodic table was processed inside the body of a star
That star exploded, and here we are.
A star is a dust cloud collapsing under the force of gravity
Hydrogen is the fuel for the explosion that occurs within, but the explosion keeps the star intact. Eventually, the fuel burns out.
The energy is absorbed within, and the star collapses, forming …silver… and all we know.
A single star shines brighter than a universe in that single moment of death, and that’s what we are. Our body is that instant of death.
It’s human to think of the stars as immortal, but the stars will burn out someday, and then the universe will be in darkness
